Why did I create Nirvana? That is the most common question I have been asked, and something I need to face in the future. The difficulty of this question equals with why we are alive. I am just a mortal, who suffers through the transmigration of karma. I have no choice but to come into this world, live a life that is full of excitement, but one day leave it on a sorrowful note.

I am no more brilliant than you, but I received the opportunity to hear the Dharma. So I accepted this mission, as if from the Buddha himself. The mission is to create the image of Nirvana Buddha. In my artwork, the Nirvana Buddha is in liberty; even expressing a childlike fun and joy. I broke free from the shackles to conform and created something full of original color.

I had the honor to meet and receive Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s teachings. Because Ven Master Hsing Yun has an aura of generosity, I realized that the “living Buddha” is not just a title but something that actually exists. Friends ask the Ven Master, “what is your best quality?” And the Ven Master answers: “fearlessness.”

Due to fearlessness, we know that every cloud has a silver lining; there is liberty to choose between life and death; and that Nirvana is actually silent.
