The inclusion of Dehua porcelain at the Buddha Museum will focus mainly on the aesthetic side, showing both its ornamental and practical sides. Hopefully, the audience will appreciate its elegant beauty. Before the exhibit came under way, the curator and members of Ceramic Development Committee Office went through three rounds of selection and finally chose 99 pieces created by 74 craftsmen. Some artists are at national level while some are budding artists. Most of the pieces are pure artworks, with only a few having practical use. Various subject matters are included, such as Avalokitesvara amid clouds. Most pieces are traditional figurative statues and some are innovative, abstract artworks.
