The 226 pieces of rare archeological discoveries include Buddha statues, jade ware, thangkas and Asoka stupas and are put on display for the first time. These items date from as early as the Sixteen Kingdoms (304 to 439 CE) and span across different Chinese dynasties including the Sui, Tang, Song, Liao, Jin, Ming and Qing dynasties. The items originate from different regions including the Han, Tibetan and the Mongolian regions, signifying the past prosperity in Shanghai and the future development of Buddhist culture.
