Cloud from Hometown Concert

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Fo Guang Shan Monastery and the Founder, Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s 90th birthday, Cloud from Hometown Concert was organized. The concert was filled with songs that illustrate how Venerable Master Hsing Yun propagated the Dharma by using music.

Some examples include songs from Sounds of the Human World, reorganized by the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, an excerpt from Siddhartha the Musical as well as other acts such as Face Changing, Chinese Ribbon Dance, Calligraphy, Guqin and Tea Arts.

The troupe gave three performances in Kaohsiung and Venerable Master Hsing Yun attended one of their performances in the Great Enlightenment Auditorium to the surprise and delight of the guests. It is the first time that the Venerable Master was seen in public since his last appearance. This concert means a great deal to him and also to the historical development of Humanistic Buddhism.
