Ink Painting Solo Exhibition by Tzong-Ho Yeh

Tzong-Ho Yeh is a full-time professor as well as the Chair of the Department of Visual Arts and Design, and the Dean of the School of Arts and Design of Nanhua University.

Calling himself an "offbeat" person, Yeh defines his artworks as anti-traditional, yet without losing tradition. He uses his works to express his inner mind as well as his understanding of the world.

He switches his perspective of creation from macro to micro, and the theme from withdrawal from the world to engagement in the world. He uses the contrast of black and white to create a visual conflict.

As a result, life in his hand begins to be tainted with aesthetic tastes, revealing the nature in his heart, appearing in the form of human and non-human, object and non-object, and then imprinted as an eternal mark in ink.

This exhibition, "In the Name of Ink", starts from the perspective of contemporary art. When looking back on the three stages of creation:

First, the artist used long rope and ink to replace brush and ink, exploring the harmonious coexistence between man and nature;

Second, the artist used images to deliver the inner spirit, pursuing textural beauty through visual arts;

Third, the artist used the montage technique to depict the wonderful life stories.

Eventually, Tzong-Ho Yeh has the ink in his heart, the Buddha in his heart, and people in his heart, turning into a river of ink that belonged to himself.
