Buddhist artifacts are regarded as representations of cultural heritage and provide insight into Buddhist history. The TV series "Files of National Treasures" introduces and explains the most precious Buddhist artifacts, and the explanations help the audience to understand the importance of these artifacts.

The buddhism was introduced in China in the first century CE during the Han Dynasty. Indian Buddhist monks such as Kasyapa Matanga, Gobharana and Kumarajiva brought sutras into China and translated the buddhist texts in order to promote Buddhism. Due to the discrepancies among translated Buddhist texts and their interpretations, ancient monks, Faxian and Xuanzang determined to travel to India in search of original buddhist texts. Owing to the efforts of ancient Buddhist monks, Buddhism has shaped the Chinese culture. The main topic of the talks focused on the origin of Buddhism spreading to China, and the route and the method of the spread.

In 2018, in order to celebrate the Buddha's Birthday, the Buddha Museum co-curated the "Walking with the Buddha -- Discovering the Natal Landscape of the Buddha" Exhibition and Academic Conference with Durham University and the Oriental Museum, UK. Archaeologists and specialists from the UK, the US, Japan, Pakistan, Nepal, Australia, and Taiwan gathered at the Fo Guang Building to have a two-day academic conference. The conference integrates faith, archaeology, and academic research to demonstrate that the Life of the Buddha is not just a legend.

As a cultural and educational platform, the Buddha Museum invites speakers including such as Fo Guang Shan Head Abbot Most Venerable Hsin Bau, Buddha Museum Director Venerable Ruchang, and Professor Chen Chao-Long, Superintendent Emeritus of Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, to touch on a wide variety of topics.
