Description

Across 5,000 years, the Chinese culture and history took shape under various ethnic groups in different eras and regions. These ethnic costumes and accessories present the particular rites, customs and beliefs across China. The rich and diverse cultures also exhibited an all-embracing scope of the country. The Fo Guang Shan Foundation for Culture and Education cooperated with the Cultural Palace of Nationalities in organizing the Exhibition of China's Intangible Cultural Heritage-ethnic Minority Costumes. The exhibition displayed costumes and accessories of different ethnic groups, including the 7 North-eastern ethnic groups such as the Mogolians, Ethnic Koreans, the Manchu, and the Hezhes (Nahai); 14 North-western ethnic groups such as the Hui, the Uyghur, the Kazakhs, the Uzbeks, and the Ethnic Russians; 25 South-western ethnic groups such as the Tibetan, the Yi, the Dai, and the Miao. More than a hundred sets and almost a thousand pieces of clothing and accessories were on display.
