On April 16th and 17th of Taiwan local time, the first English 2022 North America Three Acts of Goodness (TAG) Teacher Training Workshop, jointly held by Fo Guang Shan Hsi Lai Temple and Fo Guang Shan Foundation for Buddhist Culture and Education, officially kicked off. Nearly 100 educators from the United States, Canada, Singapore, the Philippines, Australia, and Taiwan participated in the online workshop.

Venerable Hui Dong, Abbot of Fo Guang Shan Hsi Lai Temple, and Venerable Ru Chang, Executive Director of the Fo Guang Shan Foundation for Buddhist Culture and Education, gave their opening remarks by welcoming the participants to the virtual event. Venerable Hui Dong said, “promoting TAG is the core mission of Humanistic Buddhism and is more important than the achievement of personal enlightenment.” Venerable Ru Chang explained, “the TAG teaching materials published by the foundation provide teaching methodologies for cultivating and implementing moral concepts.”

Five speakers, including Venerable You Lu, leader of the Buddha Museum International Affairs Department, Stacey Weng, Yi Zhen Chia, Kurt Ko, and Becky Du shared their vast knowledge, experience, and expertise in the education for children and youth. The emphasis of this workshop was on the use of English TAG material, course design, brainstorming, and worksheet design. It was hoped that participants would be able to apply what they have gained from the workshop to their future teaching practice. The organizer also established an online chat group and cloud sourcing platform to facilitate the participants' follow-up learning and experience exchange.
